Cool to see just how much Gamma plays a role in our brain function.
This study was done with people with electrodes already implanted for study and regulation of epilepsy.
The researchers found that Gamma waves are the dominant brainwave during gambling.
These Gamma waves were elevated in one hemisphere (one side of the brain) during a high risk decision and switched to the other side during a more conservative decision.
This happened in a push/pull fashion where Gamma controlled whether the person took a risk or not.
It seems that Gamma brainwaves are partly responsible for boldness and risk taking.
I suspect that this is in line with right brain and left brain differences and that therefore the result of which side of the brain did what would be reversed for left handed vs right handed people.
